About Teijin Pharma

Teijin created Japan’s first membrane-type oxygen concentrator. Because it is used every day, we focus on product development based on patients’ needs. Our team consisting of sales staff, home care staff, nurses, and administrative staff works together to support patients’ daily peace of mind. The HOT call center is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Oxygen cylinders can also be delivered to travel destinations. In the event of a disaster, the system displays patients’ homes and nearby evacuation shelters, allowing us to quickly arrange the necessary equipment. Teijin Pharma concentrates on services that stay close to patients’ lives and respond to their detailed needs.

We launched Onealfa®, our first in-house–developed osteoporosis treatment, in 1981. This was followed by Febuxostat®, an in-house–developed treatment for gout and hyperuricemia, which was marketed in 77 countries worldwide, including Japan*, and helped pave the way for Teijin Pharma’s global expansion.
In recent years, we have strengthened our efforts in the fields of intractable and rare diseases, expanding our portfolio through cross-licensing agreements with overseas companies. We continue to take on the challenge of providing products and services that enable patients to receive the medical care they desire, in the places they feel most at home, according to the stage of their disease and their living environment.

Community-based, integrated care is the ideal environment for patients to receive healthcare at home. We designed a patient information sharing system, VitalLink®, that facilitates this ideal environment. The system keeps patients’ medical teams updated on their status and condition in real time, including doctors, nurses and certified care workers. There are also 100 Teijin support offices and home visit nursing stations Japan-wide. Our in-house medical experts work together with experienced sales staff and home care professionals to support comprehensive care.
